riding log
Mar. 21st, 2010 01:31 amAbsolutely fabulous trail ride this afternoon. (Most of the rest of the barn is riding out tomorrow afternoon, but I have to be on a plane to *cough* California, so I rode out today.) Much as I like the group rides, I also enjoy the solo rides - go exactly where you feel like, at exactly your own pace. I took Gemini to a section of the state forest that she's never been to before - that I haven't been to since Cheyenne died a year and a half ago - and she was completely fine with it. On the way back, I gave her her head, and she mostly followed trails that we both knew, but then she started bush-whacking. Looking at the GPS tracklog, it's a bit of a straighter line than it felt like at the time. I'm surprised we both got back with skins intact.
I wanted a horse with sound legs, a good head, and a sense of adventure, and I got it all in full measure. I love my horse.
