One of the problems with visiting such a visually-rich place as Stockholm is how to organize the buttloads of pictures into theme-posts, or narrative posts, or anything to get them in front of you. Yes, I could just dump them to flickr, and let you sort through them, but I prefer to curate them in some way.

So, we'll start with one of my known obsessions: doors.

This was directly across the street from the front door of the hotel:

Finally, this isn't even a door - it's cast into the concrete wall. The nameplate says "Arkitekt Bengt Lindroos".

Here's a house we looked at on Sunday. after trying for two months )

more blah-blah, a few more pixs )

Not sure we're going to go for it, but it's helped us think about what we do want.

We're more or less just back from the Vineyard (got in ca. 12:30 last night). Needless to say, more pix to come, though probably after more Amsterdam. Hope you don't mind. :)

No, we didn't see the President. We didn't even see the governor, who was also there for a day or so, on a campaign stop.

We also didn't see any mainland chains, save a couple Stop&Shops - no fast food outlets of any sort, no Dunkin Donuts, no Starbucks, no WalMart or any big box of any kind. Black Dog was ubiquitous, but that's an island chain; ditto Mad Martha's ice cream and Mocha Mott's coffee. No billboards, and if there was any neon, it was little "Open" signs.

Many pixs to come, oh yes (probably after the remaining Amsterdam picz), but here's a door in the meantime, practically next door to our B&B.
