I rode Gemini in the North Reading Memorial Day parade - her first parade. It feels a little like a jinx saying that, because Cheyenne's first Memorial Day parade was also his last (he died later that year).
Anyway, she was perfectly perfect. 2 mile trail ride down to the center of town, arriving just as it was time to step off. The parade itself was not more than a couple miles around the block, with antique fire engines ahead of us, and the entire fire department behind us, and she was fine with the noise. There was a bit of head-tossing, because she didn't like the stopping and standing around, just wanted to go. Fast trail ride back, wherein she got very competitive with the other mare, Pretty. We had to stop a couple times to let Ljufur and Apache catch up.
What a difference a year makes.
