Feb. 2nd, 2004 10:41 pmI've decided to forgo taking a class this semester, for the incredibly lame reason that I was incredibly lame, and didn't get around to trying to register until the day after the deadline, so it was going to cost an extra $50. Add to that the fact that UMass Lowell has raised tuition a tad, so it would have come to $755 to learn Photoshop. So I bought a book (which I would have had to buy anyway for the class), and we'll see if I can budget the time to learn Photoshop on my own. (Or rather, start to learn - I understand it's an ongoing process.)
So instead of taking a Monday evening class, I've started going to aikido on Mondays. Winter camp is coming up in mid-March, and I'll be up for 2nd kyu (brown belt), and I feel like I need a lot more practice. So I'll be going twice a week at least until camp. I'm bruised and tired, but happy. It makes me happy to work with beginners, and to work with black belts, and to get my ass thrown all over the mat, and to connect with people on a really physical level.
In other news, I just managed to cut my thumb slicing gruyere for my cheeseburger. Regrettably, the Trader Joe's burger patties fell rather wide of the mark, and the dijon was a bit musty, but life could be so much worse.
