Nov. 29th, 2003 11:54 pmMmm... Cranberry Raisin Tart. Of course, I came by this recipe the old-fashioned way, by stealing my mother-in-law's copy of Gourmet 10 years ago.
Got our Christmas tree today, from Turkey Hill Farm, in Haverhill MA. I used to think it was insane to get a tree so early, both on philosophical grounds (it's not even December, and we're still eating Thanksgiving leftovers) and practical grounds (it's not even December, and the thing will be a fire hazard by Christmas). But this is a cut-your-own place, and it's barely an hour between stump and tree stand. And the Douglas firs hold their needles so well, they're good until the end of January.
And now, the annual testing of the Christmas tree lights...
