Jun. 11th, 2004 12:54 amRonald Reagan made me a liberal. George W. Bush just makes me insane.
I feel a much longer rant welling up inside, but I just don't have the time or energy right now.
I've been up at UNH all week, testing our OSPF product. I'm not there because I know anything about OSPF beyond what it stands for, I'm there because I'm closer to UNH than the people who own the code (in Ottowa). And my unbiased appraisal is that I wouldn't buy our product. It's got bullshit configuration, it crashes when you try to disable an interface, virtual links just plain don't work, it does really weird shit with static routes and RIP routes, and that's just the stuff I've seen so far. I'm sure if I knew it better, I would think worse of it.
In another UNH test event, I found and fixed a raft of bugs in our RIP implementation. I duly reported the problems and workarounds to the guy who owns the code (also in Ottowa). That was 10 weeks ago, and still not a single fix has been checked in. So this time, I'm just a test-monkey, and they'll get the test results they deserve.
Still, I haven't had time to do my self-review, talk to my new boss about my new splendid projects, or post anything about my bike trip. Soon, I promise...
