Eventually I'll post about something other than horses. OTOH things are still accelerating on that front, so don't hold your breath.

Today I had Gemini evaluated by both an equine-specific veterinarian and an equine chiropractor. Executive summary: she's sound and suitable for the type of riding I plan to use her for. I'll be getting the full reports in the mail, but she's in good shape - heart, lungs, teeth, legs, back, etc. She is and always will be a little swaybacked, but there's nothing painful in the muscles or along the spine - she's structurally sound. Legs are fine, and she tracks straight (as opposed to Cheyenne, who paddled badly (front legs swung out then in, in semicircles)). Chiro found some areas of tension in the neck, shoulders, and hips, but who among us doesn't have those?

Next week, [livejournal.com profile] lyonesse and I are going up to Vermont, to look at an Icy (because she wouldn't be doing her job if she didn't put me on at least one Icelandic in this process), but it'll have to be pretty impressive to overcome the level of commitment I've already made to Gemini.
