The Palais des Congrès occupies three city blocks. As far as I know, this is the only original building to survive, and it's just the facade. The actual fire station was relocated to the east end of the Palais (conveniently close to Tim Hortons).

This section has all the charm of an airport terminal.

By Monday, I was kind of punchy, finding art wherever it was.

OTOH, this was cool. Bet you haven't seen the inside of an escalator.

I think there were at least three old building facades incorporated into the exterior of the Palais along Saint-Antoine. Closer to the Delta there's a red brick building and on the other side of the old fire station there was a taller building that got incorporated into the upper levels of the Palais (from the Staff Den in the Embassy Suites hotel, you could see the large concrete diagonals through the windows of the old building.

!!! Nothing wrong with being punchy if it makes pictures like that happen.
