Nov. 25th, 2003 11:18 pm1) Huh. We spent the weekend in Portland ME, visiting Francie's mum, and doing some Christmas shopping. It appears that
tcb and
kimberlogic were there at the same time, in approximately the same place, but we never ran into them.
Francie's mum lives in a condo on a wharf in the heart of the Old Port. To one side is an expensive marina and a (very good) floating restaurant. To the other side, the side this particular condo faces, is a working pier. There are boats coming and going all the time, fishing boats and lobster boats and what have you. There are seagulls and semi-feral cats, and sometimes, just occasionally, harbor seals. Tis good.
2) Blaze, the Friendliest Mouse in the World, has been looking peaked for a while. He just sits, huddled up in his cage. He doesn't have much to climb on, but he used to climb on top of his hanging water bottle, and he used to spend a lot of time on his wheel. Last night, we decided to put him in the girls' cage. He could use the company, he's not (in any position to be) aggressive towards them, they might take care of him, and if either of them gets knocked up, we were trying to breed him anyway. He seems a bit livelier today - hardly frisky, but marginally better.
3) Got a call today from my friend Dan, the professional amputee. He's going to be leading an amputee biking trip to Europe next summer, and he's trying to get me to come along as a driver. He's also planning on biking the Tour d'Afrique in 2005, and wants me to join him. In the meantime, I should go visit him in North Carolina, where it's in the 60's, and he just did a century. Aargh, too many temptations...
