Pressed for time, so I did the "parking lot trot", a simple out-and-back, all fire roads, 5 miles round trip. This is one of the "standard" rides at the barn, but I hardly ever do it (and I have 2 years worth of tracklogs to prove it). OTOH, it's about 40 minutes out (W/T), and 20 minutes back (T/C/G!). Gemini was a little sweaty by the time we got back. :)

They're always more enthusiastic about coming home, and you know it. :)

BTW, tried out Dr.Jen's boots, and I'm reserving judgment. She was a little fussy-footed going out last time, and she was still a little fussy-footed going out this time, with the boots. I think she just likes the cushy trail-edges.

*i* am enthusiastic about arriving home on a cooled-down horse, but that's just me ;)
