The doctor says it's pneumonia. I've never had pneumonia before.

He made the diagnosis on the basis of the chest x-rays (after the office visit), and didn't do a culture, so it looks like we're assuming bacterial until proven otherwise. He also thought it might be a sinus infection, and was prepared to treat it as a sinus infection, since it didn't present as classical pneumonia. Step 1 in both cases is "throw antibiotics at it".

Ugh. I hope you feel better quickly!

Oh, no! I hope you feel better soon.

When you do, let's get together and do something, because this pattern of only seeing you _during_ IETF meetings has to stop!

Forgot to mention that I have to fly out to California on Tuesday, for 11 days. I better get better soon.

Oh. If you're in the Bay Area, and would like to get together for dinner or something, that might well be arrangeable. If you're not, or don't, that's certainly okay too.

Getting better soon would definitely be good.

Diseases is not a set of which you want a full collection...

I hope you get better soon, I had it once, and it was highly unpleasant.

I had pneumonia once when I was in high school. I hope I never go through that again -- I don't envy your position one bit.
Hope you enjoy a swift recovery.

Ick. I had pneumonia as a child. I remember it as vividly unpleasant. I hope you feel much better soon! *hugs*

I've had it twice in the last couple of years. The antibiotic should make a definite improvement after a day or two. If you don't feel better (not all better but at least noticeably better) go back and have them culture. And be prepared for the full recovery to take a while. Get lots of rest (really) because if you push yourself it will linger.

EEP. So much for hoping to see you at EOS tomorrow. :-(

There will be other parties. Take care of you.

Now, did I say that? I'm not dead yet, I don't seem to be virulent, and the antibiotics seem to be taking hold. It'll depend on how I'm actually feeling at the time, of course.

::sigh:: Except now we're not coming to the party after all. Stupid floodwaters. The highways that aren't closed are a real mess and we had to decide to not try to drive northeast in the next few days.

Maybe see you in October? I'll be visiting the 22nd-27th to meet up with a Brit friend who is doing a US-tour. I'm sure I could get away for a little bit if you were amenable and available.

::restorative smooches::
