Something I noticed in the course of the science experiment that is my body:

I didn't have coffee over the weekend, and my weight was up significantly the following mornings. Monday morning I went back to coffee, and my weight dropped, again significantly. I don't know if it's the stimulant effect or the diuretic effect, but coffee appears to be a necessary component of my diet. It's a good thing I like it.

I think it's both a diuretic and a mild appetite suppressant.

I read somewhere that is stimulates release of sugar from your liver, giving you an energy boost, so you are likely to do more and feel less hungry. Coffee is certainly something that cheers me up first thing in the morning.

Do you have different eating patterns at work and home? If you want to expand the experiment, try going off coffee for two days during the work week.

Insufficient data. (Aren't I encouraging? It really is too short a time period to draw any real conclusions though.)
