Okay, to heck with theme posts, let's just get this all out there. Here are a few things I saw on my early morning run. Since these are phone-cam pics, the file names contain timestamps, if you're curious about what 5am looks like vs 6:30am.

Nordiska Museet, Djurgården island.

Tram garage, also Djurgården.

A "names" memorial. I didn't actually spend long enough to figure out what conflict it was from; Sweden was officially neutral during both World Wars (although under German influence/pressure).

5am waterfront.

Gröna Lund amusement park, not open yet.

5:38am.

The little bridge to little Riddarholmen island.

Stockholms stadshus (City Hall).

Courtyard of the stadshus.

Courtyard and portico, from the south/left side.

Under the portico. This may look familiar.

Stockholms tingsrätt (Court House).

Also the courthouse. Partly it's a matter of color balance in the phone-cam, also this is a couple stories higher than door, so catching the full morning sun.

Lest you think Stockholm is all beauty and sunshine, here's a rail yard (approaching the central station) and highway.

Someone dumped a large bag of Wham candies in interesting drifts.

ooo, some really pretty ones here! I never get to take sunrise light photos, but the golden hour is much the same then as evening, and a lot less crowded :)

The photo of the little bridge to little Riddarholmen island reminds me keenly of Paris. Now I want to go to Paris again too...on the way to Stockholm.

Why do I love the photo of the Wham candies so much?

I dunno either, but I want some Wham candy now.

(Tho' I am reminded of Mr. Blandings Builds his Dream House...)

The Wham candies were mostly intact in their wrappers, and I was only about a mile from the hotel, so (I admit with only the slightest bit of shame), I took a handful (and washed the wrappers thoroughly before opening). "Sour" was sour apple, "fruit" was your normal fruit punch flavor, and "brew" was Irn Bru - with the approximate color and flavor of the Scottish soda.
