I've taken Kylie to the local climbing gym a couple of times for kids classes, but tonight was the first time I've been there for myself. 3 hour class, about half of which was spent on the basics of how to put on the harness, tie in, safety, signals, how to belay; then practice climbing. I had a few good climbs, but I got overly ambitious and wore myself out on one wall that I probably had no business being on, and wasn't able to complete anything after that. Good lord, but my arms and hands are sore. I definitely need to work on technique, but I also need to strengthen the old upper body. On the plus side, I really learned to trust my belayer...
