beard / not
May. 15th, 2006 12:31 amFor the last couple months, I've been sporting a beard sans moustache (e.g. Abraham Lincoln or C. Everett Koop, minus the authority, dignity, or gravitas). I've been realizing how socially inactive I've been lately by the number of people who have been genuinely surprised to see it. But it's okay, it's gone now.
Francie always hated it (I use that word extremely sparingly, but it's accurate here). Francie despised it, and Vicka derided it, and Kylie was at best oblivious to it (it took her a week to notice that the mustache had gone, but only 12 hours to notice that the beard had gone).
So, the face reappeared this morning as a Mothers Day present - cheap, but entirely personal, non-fattening, and low-maintenance.
