Went out to lunch today at Pho 88, and got the Xe Lua, described as
Extra large Beef Noodle Soup. Our largest bowl of our most popular Beef (Bo) Noodle Soup combining rare Beef, well-done Brisket, Beef Flank, Tendon and Tripe.

It was easily half a gallon. For some reason, I was surprised by this. Well-fed, though. Mmm, tripe. Even the tendon was tender.

In other news, I started a new class tonight. This one is called Desktop Publishing - Layout and Production. According to the course description, it
Introduces students to the complexities involved in preparing their designs for print: electronic page layout and design, proofing, specifying inks, trapping, cropping, overprinting, printing separations, proofing, and more.

However, according to the syllabus, it looks like it's going to be an introduction to Quark.

Of course, the last course, Intro to Graphic Design, also turned out to be an intro to Quark, despite this description:
Exercises, lectures and projects will introduce students to graphic design principles and techniques. Course will begin with a fundamental study of image, form, and space relations, then cover such topics as working with grids, typography basics, page layout, the introduction of color, rendering techniques, history, and more.

I signed up for the Layout&Production class because Typography was cancelled. At least that wouldn't have been an intro to Quark. Maybe.

It really looks like each teacher writes their own curriculum, based only on the title of the course, without reference to anyone else's curriculum or the course description.
