kirkcudbrightIn other news, I quit my job as publications head for Gaylaxicon. It's 3 months until the con, and I haven't done squat, and I'm unlikely to do squat, and I finally admitted it in public. This is the time when I should be hounding people for information, pictures, writings, and more information. But I just don't have time for it, between work, school, and everything else in my life, and I just don't have the attachment to this project to make the time for it. For Arisia, and only for Arisia, I will steal time from work, sleep, and aikido to get the job done.
So why did I sign up for this job? Because Noel asked me a couple years ago. And why did I wait this long to have this epiphany? Because I kept thinking I could make it work - next week. Because I was too lame to separate myself from this project when it became clear that I wasn't going to meetings, or making any effort to keep up with what the committee was doing (or not doing).
Anyway, if you know anyone who wants to work on publications for a 300-person gay-themed SF convention, they could use the help.
