not going to baitcon

Leaving for Worldcon on Wednesday, and I recently did the drive down to Phila for aikido camp (although iabervon did almost all of the actual driving, and lyonesse did the rest). So while it would be great to see everyone, I can't muster any enthusiasm for either the time or the other logistics of getting there or being there.

This will be the first Baitcon I've voluntarily missed since I started going in '92 or so. Last year wasn't, and the year before I was biking through Utah. Have fun, and I'll probably be there next year.

I expect that you yourself haven't slacked in the "fun" dept at such events. Heh.

But I hope to have the chance to decently connect with even a few folks instead of the too-often butterfly effect. I'm just sorry that so many friends won't be there. Gives more time to make new friends, I suppose.

BTW, was at EVOO last night with n0ire and our respective spouses for the tasting menu. Had revisitings of the confit and the sticky toffee pudding; thought of you.

Our lowest-cost carrier of necessity is Air Canada, so we're flying through Toronto tomorrow evening. Dunno if they'll put us in the international-transit holding pen, or if we'll have to go through customs in two different countries on the same trip.

Unfortunately, no.

Due to time and money constraints, I can't hit both the worldcon and the NASFiC. Due to people constraints, I am more needed at the NASFiC for the Montreal in 2009 bid. I will be attending the NASFiC.
