happy T (cell) day
Nov. 23rd, 2007 12:06 amMy father (age 79) has multi-site non-Hodgkin lymphoma, and will be starting chemo next week. (I don't actually know if it's a T cell type - I just couldn't pass up the subject line.)
This is just information, not a call for sympathy. It may the matter-of-fact way he presented it, and moved on to the subject of desert; it may be my overall lack of closeness with my family; it may be cancer fatigue (e.g. Francie's mother's recent colon and lung cancers); but I took this announcement with the same detached concern as the news of my brother's knee surgery. I'm still trying to figure out what to make of all that.
