June 19: Halifax part 2: Citadel
Jul. 10th, 2008 06:22 pm
Drill practice for the 78th Highlanders.

Preparing to fire the noon gun. The gunner on the right is in charge, and is synchronized to an atomic clock.

In case it's not obvious, this is a winch for placing cannon on carriages.

The Town Clock, halfway down the hill from the Citadel, but still above the downtown.

Sculpture called The Wave, outside the tourist info office. It's clearly posted "no climbing", and it's equally clearly been climbed on since the day it was installed.
